Year 5 on the Home Front
Today Y5 is filled with soldiers, land girls and evacuees as pupils are enjoying a taste of what life was like at home in England during World War II. The children worked collaboratively to build models of Anderson shelters; learn a typical dance from the era; and bake cookies using rations. They have all made their own gas mask in case the air-raid siren goes off.
At the end of the day we welcomed parents and carers in to sample our cookies and see our dance.
