World Book Day 2019

Today has been such great fun!

Most of us came to school in our pyjamas so we were very excited, including the children!

School dinner was Dahl-themed with Matilda's Magical Meatballs and The BFG's burgers going down a treat.

All the teachers moved round to read one of their favourite stories to another class in a different year group. Mrs Fenton was told off by Miss Newbold because in Mrs Fenton's assembly on Monday, she had already shared the book that Miss Newbold had chosen to share today!

Thanks to Ruby F in Y2 for lending Mrs Fenton her copy of

I Need a New Bum by Dawn McMillan.

Each class had fun learning about a book and then the day ended, thanks to our brilliant Buddies, with Movie Night which included a film and movie snacks including hot dogs, pop corn AND ice creams.

Below you can see Y4 enjoying a film and an ice cream and then also a photograph of the Wonder-inspired self-portraits and precepts created by Y6.

Wonder, by R J Palaccio, contains many precepts which are basically words to live by e.g. When given a choice between being right and being kind, choose kind.
