"Sound" Scientists in Y3/4
This week, Y3/4 have been serious scientists using serious tech to find out the best material to insulate against noise - aka soundproofing.
The children had to use what they had learned previously about circuits and construct one including a buzzer.
They then used data loggers to record the decibels of the sound that passed through each material.
The lower the number of decibels, the better the soundproofing.
If you want to find out how best to drown out grown-ups' snoring or X-box-related shouting, you will have to ask someone from Y3/4 which material was the best 'soundproofer'.
